Penny Pines Honorees

"Pennies" - small change - is collected at each meeting, which pays for 1-acre 'plantations' of pine trees ('Penny Pines'), planted to reforest land that has been damaged by fire or logging. Under a Conservation Agreement, an organization may contribute $68 towards the cost of planting seedlings on about one acre of National Forest Land in California. The Garden Club selects a person or an organization that has worked hard or supported our garden club cause, and plants the new plantation in their memory/honor.
